Hikari Mansion Pricing

Flet's Hikari Mansion is a type of fiber optic based internet connection where the service has already been brought to the building by NTT (the "connection Provider" or "carrier*) making connection quick and easy. Currently, about half the apartment buildings in Japan already have Hikari (fiber optic) internet service connected.

Cost

The cost of the service varies from building to building and depends on the number of residences in the building as well as the type of construction (i.e., whether LAN wiring was installed when building was build or not, etc.).

There are prices lists on NTT's site and elsewhere around the net but it is pointless to look at them because:

1. You cannot choose which type service you want. It's already been determined for your building if "Mansion-type" Hikari is, indeed, already installed. And if it's not, then your only choice will be the more expensive Family-type Hikari where the fiber optic wire is pulled from the street to your room (provided your building owner approves). Likewise, the cost of Family-type depends on which generation of the service is installed in your neighborhood so, in most cases, the cost is what it is.
2. The NTT prices are not the full cost. You also have to have an Internet Service Provider. (We are also agents for ISP services and will arrange the full package.)

Because the cost varies from building to building, before you can know how exactly how much it will cost you, it's necessary to find out which system is installed in your building (if any). To do that, just request an Availability Check.

When we receive your request, we will research the various services offered in your area and installed in your apartment building and then provide you with a detailed Availability Report including prices, speeds that can be expected and the estimated time to connection for each of the services. Generally the report is provided within one "business" day but can take longer depending on the local situation and whether you have provided a full address including the building name (if possible).
